M.J. (Mick) Trusty, J.D., CTFA
Senior Vice President, Chief Fiduciary Officer

Mick Trusty is the Chief Fiduciary Officer of the Wealth Management Group and a Senior Vice President with Guaranty Bank & Trust, N.A. Mr. Trusty is an attorney with over forty years experience in the areas of fiduciary regulation and management. Mick works with clients to develop investment and planning solutions for their individual situations in a variety of areas including income, estate and gift taxes, portfolio management, along with trust and entity structuring. 

He is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas and is licensed to practice law in Texas as well as the Federal District Courts in the Northern and Eastern Texas Districts. Mick is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the Northeast Texas Bar Association. He previously served on the Executive Committee of the Texas Bankers Association Trust and Financial Services Division and holds a CTFA designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers. He has served on Philanthropic Boards throughout Texas as well as serving four years as the Alumni Association Board President for Texas A&M University-Commerce.

He presently serves as Vice Chair for Governance of its Foundation Board of Directors. He has received the University’s Gold Blazer Award and the College of Business Accounting Alumni Award. Mick is an adjunct federal income tax professor in the Account Department of the University’s College of Business and serves on the College of Business Advisory Council. He and his wife, Wanda, live in Sulphur Springs. They are member of their University’s Heritage Society

Mick received his BBA in marketing and finance from Texas A&M University-Commerce and earned his Juris Doctor degree from the South Texas College of Law in Houston. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Rotary Club of Sulphur Springs.
